Celebrate Veterans Day with free meals and sweet deals!
Veterans Day 2024 is Monday, November 11th, and many stores and restaurants will offer free meals and other discounts, freebies, and deals for veterans, active-duty military members, and their spouses!
Please note that in many cases, proof of military service is required to claim these offers. We recommend calling ahead to make sure that your local restaurants and retailers are participating (and to verify their ID requirements).
Here’s a look at all the best Veterans Day free meals, deals, and other freebies that were available in 2023. Keep checking this post often, because we expect new offers to be announced right up until Veterans Day 2024!
10% OFF in-store and online at Academy Sports
All military and first responders got 10% off their in-store and online purchases at Academy Sports.
Free entrée and $5 towards your next meal at Applebee’s
On November 11th, 2023, U.S. veterans and active-duty military got a FREE full-size entrée at participating Applebee’s restaurants (valid for dine-in only). Proof of military service was required. Take a look at the menu for this special event!
Additionally, Applebee’s honored these special guests with a $5 Bounce Back Card to redeem for dine-in, To Go, or delivery within a three-week redemption window.
25% off Korean barbeque at bb.q Chicken
On November 11th, 2023, bb.q Chicken offered 25% off to all US military veterans and active duty service members with valid ID. This offer was valid in-store only, at participating bb.q Chicken locations.
Free Pizookie from BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse
Veterans and active-duty military personnel got a complimentary Chocolate Chunk Pizookie with a minimum dine-in purchase of $11.95 at BJ’s. Valid military ID or proof of service was required.
Free meal at Bob Evans
On November 11th, 2023, veterans and active-duty military personnel got a FREE meal from Bob Evans’ Veterans Day Menu.
Free entrees at all Bombshells locations in Texas
All Bombshells Restaurant & Bar locations in Texas provided free entrees for veterans on November 11th, 2023. Other items were discounted 20% (excluding alcohol). Families accompanying veterans and active servicemembers received a 20% discount on entrees and other items on Veterans Day, too!
Free Chick Special & a drink from Chicken Salad Chick
On November 11th, 2023, Veterans and active military received a FREE Chick Special and regular-size drink at Chicken Salad Chick! Anyone eligible could just stop by in uniform or with your military ID/DD214 to redeem this offer (in-restaurant only).
Free Meal at Chick-fil-A
Chick Fil A offered Veterans a free medium meal in 2023, although this offer did vary by location. Find more details on Chick-fil-A’s discounts here.
Free meal at Chili’s
Chili’s offered veterans and active military members a FREE meal on November 11th, 2023. Service members could select a free entrée from the following choices: Chicken Crispers, Chili or Soup & Salad, Chicken Bacon Ranch Quesadillas, or Oldtimer with Cheese.
Free coffee through the Circle K app
On Veterans Day 2023, Circle K offered free coffee to veterans and active-duty military personnel through the Circle K app.
20% off your Dollar General purchase
Through November 12th, 2023, Dollar General offered a 20% discount on qualifying in-store purchases for verified active military and veterans. Note that this discount was not available on DG GO! or for DG Pickup.
Free doughnut from Dunkin
In 2023 Dunkin’ offered all active and retired military a free doughnut on Veterans Day. Current and former members of the military could stop by participating Dunkin’ restaurants to pick up their free doughnut. No purchase was necessary to claim this offer!
Free Original Double with Cheese combo meal card at Freddy’s
On November 11th, 2023 all Veterans and current military personnel could receive a complimentary Freddy’s Original Double with Cheese combo meal card. No purchase was required.
Free meals for veterans at Golden Corral
Golden Corral’s Military Appreciation Night was held on Monday, November 13, 2023. Any person who served in the U.S. Military received a free “thank you” dinner when they dined in from 5 PM to close. This offer was valid for all active-duty military personnel, retirees, and veterans of the U.S. Military.
Free car care and 10% off tires at Goodyear
Through November 14th, military members, veterans, and first responders who presented a valid ID received 10% off tires and services at Goodyear.
Goodyear also offered Free Car Care for Vets including the following services:
- Tire Tread & Pressure Check
- Alignment Check
- Brakes and Brake Fluid Check
- Fluid Check
Free haircuts for veterans at Great Clips
On Veterans Day 2023, veterans and active service members could go into any U.S. Great Clips salon and get a free haircut or a free haircut card for a future visit.
In addition, non-military customers who got a haircut on Veterans Day at Great Clips salons also had the opportunity to pay it forward. They received a free haircut card to give to an active service member or veteran they know. The cards could be redeemed for a free haircut from November 12 through December 1, 2023.
Veterans ate free at Hooters with the purchase of a beverage in 2023.
On Veterans Day, 2023, vets or active-duty military who presented proof of service or a military ID, with the purchase of a beverage, could order a free dinner entree from the Hooters’ Veterans Day Menu. This offer was valid for dine-in only at participating Hooters locations.
The Veterans Day Menu included five of Hooters’ select entrees:
- 10-Piece Boneless Wings
- Hooters Burger
- Grilled Chicken Sandwich
- Buffalo Chicken Sandwich
- Buffalo Chicken Salad
Up to $25 off an entrée at Kobé Japanese Steakhouse
On Veterans Day 2023, anyone presenting a military ID or other proof of military service could receive up to $25 off a regular-priced entrée with the purchase of another full-priced entrée at Kobé Ichiban.
Free doughnut and coffee at Krispy Kreme
On November 11th, 2023, Veterans and active military personnel could get a FREE doughnut of their choice and a FREE small coffee (hot or iced) – no purchase necessary! This offer was limited to one per guest, in-shop and drive-thru only.
Free lunch combo at Little Caesars
Little Caesars offered veterans, active, or honorably discharged members of the military a free lunch combo on Veterans Day 2023. This offer was available for in-store orders only between 11:00 am and 2:00 pm local time. Guests needed to show a valid military ID or proof of service to redeem this offer.
Free admission to select National Parks for everyone
In honor of Veterans Day 2023, visitors at more than 400 participating National Parks could take advantage of a FREE Entrance Day. This offer was valid for everyone, not just military families! Check out the list of participating parks here.
25% off at Office Depot
Veterans, active duty and retired military personnel, reservists, and their dependents could enjoy 25% off qualifying regular and sale-priced purchases in Office Depot stores through Monday, November 13th.
To claim this discount, shoppers had to present a valid military ID, military dependent ID, or form of veteran ID at the time of purchase.
Free meal from Olive Garden
Olive Garden served Veterans a free meal from a limited menu on November 11th, 2023, although this offer did vary by location.
Free medium cheese pizza at Paisano’s Pizza
At Paisano’s Pizza, veterans could enjoy a free medium cheese pizza for pickup with a valid military ID on November 11th, 2023.
Free meal from Pilot Flying J
Over Veterans Day weekend, service members and their families received a free meal credit valued at up to $12 in the myRewards Plus app. This offer could be claimed through November 12th using the app and redeemed on food and beverages at participating Pilot, Flying J, and One9 Fuel Network travel centers.
The $12 Veterans Day meal credit was a rolling balance, so you could use any remaining balance on your next visit over Veterans Day weekend! 🙌
Free Red’s Tavern Burger with Steak Fries at Red Robin
Veterans and active military who are Red Robin Royalty members could get a FREE Red’s Tavern Burger with Bottomless Steak Fries on Veterans Day 2023 (dine-in only).
Up to 40% off Samsung products
For a limited time, Veterans got up to 40% off Samsung products through Veterans Advantage. To access this discount, veterans had to be enrolled in Veterans Advantage’s VetBenefits program.
Free car wash from ScrubaDub
In celebration of Veterans Day 2032, ScrubaDub Auto Wash Centers offered complimentary express car washes to veterans and active-duty military personnel.
Free admission, parking, and more at Six Flags
On Veterans Day 2023, all veterans and retired & active personnel received free admission to select Six Flags locations! Friends & family members of veterans also received discounted park admission for just $19.99. A valid Military ID was required.
Free smoothie from Smoothie King
Veterans and active-duty military personnel could stop into Smoothie King for a free 20-oz. red, white, or blue smoothie on Veterans Day, 2023.
Recipients could choose from one of three smoothies, including the red Cherry X-Treme, the white Slim-N-Trim Vanilla, or the blue Blueberry Heaven.
25% off a purchase at Staples
Veterans could snag 25% off at their local Staples store on Veterans Day 2023. Note that this offer did vary by location.
10% off two separate purchases storewide at Target
Target offered veterans, military personnel, and their families a Circle offer for 10% off storewide through November 11th, 2023. To claim this offer, guests needed to verify their eligibility here. Then, the discount could be used twice either in-store or online!
15% off at Tractor Supply Co.
Tractor Supply Co. honored active and former military members and their dependents with a 15% discount in stores on Veterans Day 2023. All service members, veterans, and their dependents with a valid military ID or proof of service were eligible for this promotion.
Free flotation therapy session from True REST Float Spa
On November 11th (and the eleventh day of every month!), True REST Float Spas provided free float therapy sessions to US Military members and veterans. Float therapy is scientifically proven to safely and holistically help treat and manage the symptoms of chronic pain, anxiety, depression, and PTSD.
Interested veterans were encouraged to call their local True REST Float Spa to reserve their free floatation therapy appointment.
Free Combo Meal from White Castle
White Castle celebrated Veterans Day by offering a free Combo Meal or Breakfast Combo Meal to all veterans and active duty service members who dined in on November 11th, 2023. No purchase was necessary to claim this offer, and a military ID will be requested.
Free appetizer from Yard House
On Veterans Day 2023, veterans and active-duty military personnel could receive a FREE appetizer with a valid military ID. This offer was available for dine-in guests only, and no purchase was necessary.
Free car was at ZIPS Car Wash
ZIPS Car Wash offered a FREE Premier car wash to all United States veterans and active military personnel today. Veterans could visit any participating ZIPS location and enter wash code 1123 to redeem this offer at over 280 participating locations across the country.
